+ 870 single Inmarsat country code

InmarsatSingleCountryCode

From 1 January 2009, Inmarsat users will be required to dial a single country code when calling from Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) services. That number is +870.

What impact will this have?
Calls made to Inmarsat terminals from PSTN network services after 31 December 2008 must be dialed using the +870 code only.

This date is final, and any calls made using the old Ocean Region codes after will fail to connect.

Routing to the right Ocean Region is automated and transparent using the +870 code.

Which Inmarsat services will change?
•  Fleet 33, 55, 77
•  Inmarsat B
•  Inmarsat M
•  Mini M
•  Inmarsat GAN (M4)
•  Classic Aero
•  Swift 64

Which Inmarsat services will not be affected?
Please note that the telex Ocean Region codes (+581, +582, +583, +584) as well as the SwiftBroadband, FleetBroadband, BGAN and Inmarsat-C services will not be affected.

The country code +870 is already available, we strongly recommend you to start using the number for calling Inmarsat terminals as of today - before the deadline of 1st January 2009.
