FTMSC rebrands to Vizada
Paris, 6 June 2007 – France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications (FTMSC) today rebrands itself Vizada. The launch marks a new beginning as an autonomous provider on the mobile satellite communications market. The former FTMSC was acquired by funds managed by Apax Partners SA on October 31 2006.Vizada markets and develops mobile satellite communications solutions for customers based in areas with limited terrestrial telecoms infrastructure. It reaches these customers through eight sales and representation offices worldwide and a network of approximately 200 international distributors.
The core of Vizada’s strategy centers on developing partnerships with these distributors. Being present in strategically worldwide locations and leveraging the expertise of a long-term player, Vizada aims to provide even better support in the distribution of this portfolio through its partners.
Vizada offers distributors one of the most complete offerings on the market, combing the maritime and land-based services of all leading mobile satellite operators (Inmarsat, Thuraya, Iridium etc.) with airtime, hardware, in-house developed applications and customized solutions. Many solutions are specifically created to facilitate and accompany Vizada’s distributors in their business.
Vizada will this year further strengthen its portfolio by integrating a number of key broadband services aimed at the maritime, land-based and aeronautical sectors, and enhancing them with innovative broadband tools and applications. Vizada is currently working to provide access to these applications on all its mobile satellite partners’ networks.
Erik Ceuppens, Chief Executive Officer, states: “We are delighted to launch the Vizada brand today and convinced of the momentum it will provide us on the mobile satellite market. We will continue to develop market-leading and innovative solutions for our customers and look forward to accompanying them under this new name.”
