Vizada supports TSF on earthquake mission in Peru

A major earthquake (magnitude of 7.9 on the Richter scale) struck off the coast of central Peru and a series of aftershocks rocked the country. More than 500 people died and more than 1,350 have been injured.

TSF has sent a first team from the base at Managua to establish comms link in the earthquake region. This first team touched down in Lima last week to be transported as soon as possible to the effected zones.

TSF has set up a telecom center to support the relief agencies operating in the area. As official partner to TSF, Vizada provides the NGO with a range of satellite phones and terminals, such as RBGAN, BGAN, MiniM and GAN M4. This enables the deployment of communication centers providing broadband Internet, phone and fax lines.
