New FleetBroadband by Vizada Enhances Maritime Communications
Vizada appointed by Inmarsat as official distribution partner of FleetBroadband service
We are very pleased to announce that Vizada has been appointed official distribution partner for Inmarsat’s FleetBroadband service, the first maritime communications service to provide cost-effective, simultaneous voice and high-speed data communications through a compact antenna. We will combine the FleetBroadband service with our own integrated solutions to enhance communications for our customers. FleetBroadband by Vizada will be commercially available on 19 November 2007.
FleetBroadband is a powerful new solution you can use to meet the evolving needs of commercial maritime market. It provides IP services via a Standard IP connection at speeds up to 432 kbps over a shared channel allowing email, Internet and intranet access. On demand, guaranteed streaming connections at rates up to 256 kbps can be used for applications such as videoconferencing. It also provides a 64 kbps ISDN connection and SMS service.
Vizada solutions facilitate day-to-day vessel running by meeting bridge communications needs, improving crew welfare and facilitating operational and maintenance processes. These include:
- Cost-effective messaging tools
- A range of VPN solutions for secure access to the corporate network
- Prepaid voice and data cards
- Online management and billing tools to help control and monitor traffic on large fleets of terminals
- Low-cost fixed to mobile calling
Our appointment as a FleetBroadband distributor and the development of our maritime broadband offering marks the latest step in our broadband strategy. Vizada now covers customers’ remote high-speed connectivity needs at sea, on land and in the air by bundling our integrated solutions with FleetBroadband, BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) and VSAT (very small aperture terminal) services. We will also offer SwiftBroadband, Inmarsat’s high-speed broadband service for the aeronautical market, launching also this week.
