New version of SkyFile® Mail - based on Unicode
June 6, 2010 - We are pleased to release a new version (v.7.6) of our SkyFile® Mail software based on Unicode (UTF-8). This means that SkyFile Mail can be used in all available languages simultaneously, and enables users to switch easily from one language to the other. The new Unicode version is available for all ship-to shore and shore-to-ship messages.
Unique enhancements:
• Nine default languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese, Russian), all of which can be used simultaneously.
• Crew benefit by using the SkyFile Mail software in their own language: each sub-account including the MyMail sub-account can be used in the language of their choice, and the captain can use the master account in English at the same time.
• Users can even mix languages in the same email.
More new features:
• Spell checker in English, French and German. Users can easily add their own dictionary from the OpenOffice website, with instructions on how to download and install provided in the SkyFile help menu.
The SkyFile server is fully compatible with older SkyFile versions even though the software has been re-coded. The server only adapts to the Unicode mode when an account is using the latest version (from v 7.6).
Customers outside Asia using Windows XP and Windows 2000 might need to install "Windows XP support for Asian languages" if they want to use Asian languages. For this action the Windows CD is required.
