Shipping companies to reduce costs through VoIP interconnection
VoIP-compatible service significantly reduces costs of shore-ship calling to Inmarsat FleetBroadband terminals
Vizada is offering shipping company customers the opportunity to reduce the cost of shore-ship communications to Inmarsat FleetBroadband terminals by activating a voice over IP (VoIP) connection on its network.
Shipping companies that use Vizada’s Inmarsat FleetBroadband service and make regular voice calls to the terminal from offices on shore simply require a VoIP-compatible PABX telephone server at their premises. Vizada can then configure its infrastructure to route VoIP calls over its network to the LES and setup a voice call to the terminal on board ship. The dialling procedure for the shipping companies is exactly the same as with a standard land-based voice call, avoiding the use of a specific PIN or password. The only number called is that of the satellite terminal.
This configuration is available for all customers worldwide, and provides a more cost-effective voice calling service for shipping companies whose staff make regular voice calls to satellite terminals on board.
Vizada’s team of IP & networking experts provides hands-on advice to shipping companies wishing to reduce the cost of communications, particularly over IP-based services such as Inmarsat FleetBroadband.
